Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is an upcoming action/ Adventure Video Game adaptation of the legendary film Trilogy of Indiana Jones. Developed by Machine Games and published by Betheseda Softworks. Set to release on December 9^th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows and to release on Playstation 5 early next year.  

Throughout this piece I will be sharing what I know about the game so far and through my own research and what is already in view for the public. I will be playing the game upon release on Xbox over on my Twitch of the same name “WhatWouldKaySay“

The Great Circle is set in 1937 between “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The Last crusade“. The story driven first person game opens up after Jones leaves his fiancé Marion Ravenwood, an artifact is stolen from Marshall College by a grandiose man known as Locus, played by the late Tony Todd. When Indy travels to the Vatican to investigate he discovers that sites of spiritual significance have been built throughout history, realizing that their locations form a perfectly aligned circle around the globe.  

Throughout the 12 hour game run we follow Indy as he along with his trusty whip and formidable and possible love interest Gina Lombardi played by Alessandra Mastronardi, an Italian journalist who has not only an interest to the case but her own cross to bear throughout the story.  

The game takes the player through beautiful open world areas including the snowy mountains of the Himalayas, the iconic pyramids of Egypt and many more, the player will have lots of opportunities to explore, take photos on Indy’s trusty camera, solve some challenging puzzles and use their environment for stealth and combat. But watch when traversing difficult terrain and fighting enemies as Indy does have a stealth bar.  

During the game the player can collect Adventure points to rank up Indy’s skills, these are achieved by finding collectables, taking pictures of certain locations and clues and fighting enemies. 

With it being an Indiana Jones game there is some great easter eggs as well as common Indiana Jones lore, the main one being that Nazi Germany plays a huge role antagonistically against Indiana and co.  

Before I leave this, I want to talk about Indiana Jones himself, who beside Harrison Ford can play such a role? For this iconic character, infamous video game actor Troy Baker has been chosen to fill the shoes of Jones. A daunting task indeed but given Baker’s extended knowledge of his craft and from the videos I have already seen of him taking on the gruff Indiana Jones voice, I’m sure avid fans have nothing to worry about.
